OH WHAT A JOURNAL!

Hello all!
long time no speaky speak...
So whats happening? had an exhibition a few weeks ago that went quite well! and got me into the mood that i can actually be an artist with my digital prints/paintings (cause people actually bought them! i know shock horror). And with another girl ignoring me, what better time to vent all that frustration!?

I have just started a Masters course at the moment... so have to try and create while also using the other side of my brain to keep up with the course, but after discussing with another awesome artists friend of mine i came up with the idea to try and put together a solo exhibition early next year called ... AFTERTASTE ...

I have already uploaded a few of the main works (there will be 6 main pieces then a series of 2-4 smaller pieces accompanying each) and there is a common theme throughout the exhibition but will let people work it out for themselves if they attend the show OR look at the works online...

Just a curious about where to hold the exhibition, wondering if anyone has any suggestions for any good exhibition spaces around sydney for emerging artists?
would be awesomely appreciated...

will update again when i get the time! now to leave a new samples of works i think are awesome at the moment!.

ENJOY

OH WHAT A JOURNAL!

A very long long time since the last journal entry, but finally have a lil spare time in front of my computer.
So whats new...
Lots of freelance work recently but nothing really exciting to put up on DA (logos and concepts for different museum works). and have also been working 4+days a week in retail to save for nothing pretty much..

i head to the SNOW this Sunday for a week of getting away from the world after some fairly full on family issues that have arisen in the last few weeks, i love being able to draw to vent emotions and wonder how other people get rid of feelings and thoughts? probably talk them out like a normal person :)

Exhibition with a group of super awesome artists called KIOCHI starting August 19th, then launch 2.0 the following Wednesday on the 26th at a small artist run space called 'Little Fish Gallery' in Newtown Sydney, will be my first exhibition outside of a University setting, and kind of pissed at myself for leaving it so long... but hopefully the start of something awesome with these rad kids, and i know qwux will always be up for exhibiting! Anyway it will be a collection of digital prints, paintings and works on skate decks from me and a whole range of things from some very talented print/paint inspired kids, you should all definitely come check it out and i'll def get some pics up on my facebook once its done... will try another journal entry b4 i trip to the snow with another sketch update of the upcoming KIOCHI exhibition...

STUFF TO DO!

Hello all once again,
Very boring but also hectic last week and a bit. Have been job hunting still, and still no success! But i have a lot of things on my to-do list i really should stop procrastinating about!

I've been trying to narrow a style down but nothing seems to be sticking or working completely for me! i guess it'll just take some time until I'm comfortable with a specific one then i can stick to that!. On the list of things to do at the moment is...

-finish concept art and start comic for .
-finish portfolio just incase ANYWHERE actually asks for an interview.
-design layout for KSTM RLYJN page with :iconqwux: so can start selling and promoting stuff.
-design and finish my personal web page!

ANYWAY to the 'featured' art for this journal entry, focusing around vexel art.... lets see what we have here...

Hmmm... not alot.......
will think of a better subject next time i swear... to anyone that actually reads this.

EXPLORATION

I think I'm settling into this lazy style of life quite nicely now.... being given jack all shifts and a lot of spare time has allowed me to sleep late and stay up even later doing a lot of nothing! starting to be inspired to move away from the computer and get back to working with my hands and paint! but am still very rustic at the moment... trying to fix old pieces just to get back into the swing of how things worked before i went all computery... if thats a word.

ANYWAY will be browsing for stock images and hoping to find some people who will model poses for sketches and such, i love having nice friends!.

For the works this week i went for...

MY FAVOURITE PAINTINGS FEATURING EYES

it sounds simplistic but i just love the human eyes... and when painted well they can be AMAZING!,
Enjoy...

A NEW WORLD

So i think I'm completely back from Japan now, body and mind.... but i really wanna go traveling somewhere else very soon! so that's where the first big problem comes in. MONEY!

I've been trying to get some freelance work while working casually in retail still, but its hard. I also applied for a bunch of jobs... one of them being MY DREAM JOB if i get it....... but i would have to move to Canberra, which would be helpful as well with a whole fresh start atmosphere. I so hope i get the concept art job! i sent a sample of my work down but realized my stuff wasnt very varied.. so i have been trying out new styles and poses in an attempt to broaden my style.

Its fun just filling pages and pages of sketches that aren't finished yet :) its like half creating a monster and leaving them just at the stage before you give them life.... (insert mad doctor laugh here...)

Suffering from lack of effort is still a bad thing for me, i can start alot of drawings but to take them to final stages, and even polish them up i usually feel 'why bother?' im more happy with them as sketches that are fresh than digital things ive sat in front of for a few hours...

ANYWAY enough rambling... work i think is awesome at the moment is...

Am thinking next journal i will actually do a theme to the thumb's i post....
